In 2013 an unknown man fired several shots from a car into a crowd of bystanders outside the Fuego Fuego nightclub in Aurora. Humberto Bautista, a father of three, who was simply out for some drinks with his brother, was struck and killed. The shooter fled the area in a car and the case went cold. In 2015 a Crime Stoppers tip brought renewed focus to the case and Edgar Ibarra-Rodriguez emerged as a suspect. The Aurora Police Department's Major Crime and Homicide Unit doggedly investigated the case and uncovered evidence and witnesses that ultimately led to a first degree murder conviction.
