John Kellner Will Not Strip Away Any Reproductive Rights

Phil Weiser has falsely claimed John will try to strip away rights, but when pressed by 9 News moderator, Kyle Clark, Phil can’t give a single example. Colorado deserves an Attorney General who will tell the truth.

John has consistently said on the campaign trail that he will defend Colorado’s Reproductive Health Equity Act if it is challenged in court and that he would fight against efforts by other states to criminalize abortion access in Colorado. A recent investigative report highlighted the incumbent Attorney General at a $1,000 a night resort in Maui attending a conference sponsored by “more than a dozen” corporations that Phil Weiser has sued, settled, or is currently in litigation with. As Chris Toth, the former executive director of the National Association of Attorneys General, a quasi-governmental organization that provides training and resources for AGs stated in that investigated report: “Could some of these settlements have been higher? Perhaps. Perhaps not. But when you’re taking things from the people you’re suing and investigating, it certainly creates a very, very troubling perception.”

John believes that transparency is critical to building public trust. At a time when trust in our institutions is low, Colorado needs an Attorney General who will prioritize transparency and honesty. Recently, John co-led a bipartisan group of public safety leaders in launching data transparency dashboards, the first project of its kind in the entire country.
